Clive (nr Napier) NZ

We gladly left Turangi in the rain and made our way to the east coast, weather was a bit bet and the sun showed an appearance on occasions. On arrival at our accommodation which was a lovely cottage in a small village called Clive, which is on the outskirts of Napier. We sorted ourselves out and went into the Art Decor city of Napier. The city is still based on the 1930's art work and all the buildings are painted in this way. This is due to an earthquake in the 1930's where the City was destroyed and it was rebuilt and wanted to keep the theme's of that time. Anyway enough of that check out the pic's.
The next day we booked a wine tour as this area has about 70 vineyards. We got picked up at 1pm and met another English couple. We went to the Mission Estate, which was the nicest of the vineyards, and were shown how to sample wine properly and immediately got stuck in at tasting 8 different wines and a dessert wine.
As another couple were late our guide Gareth said we could manage an extra Vineyard, whilst they caught up, there was no asking us twice, and we made our way to Church Road vineyard, again we tasted about another 8 wines here, and made our way back to Mission to pick up the late couple. We manage another three vineyards and were quite merry by the end of the day when we got dropped off at our accommodation.
A great experience and will have to do it again some time. Didn't do anything else that night and we are off up the east coast to a place near Waiora today.
