Vietnam

Weather still very hot here in busy vietnam (38deg)!!! We have been around seeing all the sights. We went to vist an old war prison where they kept Americans during the war, very interesting place although quite spooky as it is still as it was when the war was going on, they also put dummie men in the shackles and in the cells so when walking round and peering into the cells had quite a shock when there was a man shackled to the bed! very good though! We also went to an old style house, where we could see how the vietnamese people used to live, have to say not much different to now a days except they have a full roof and toilet wise u now have somewhere to put ur feet and something to hold on to! We visited a temple on the lake side, based on a legend about a giant turtle and a sword?? was ok but a temple is a temple!

Now about the boat trip...very good excellent in fact!! The company who we arranged in with only deals with small groups, well ours was very small just 3 of us on board a huge boat! It was great we did some sunbathing on top deck ate a gorgeous meal, sea food of course did some more sunbathing before we had the opportunity to go and see a cave and have a walk round learn a few things about their beliefs and history. After the cave visit we went to the beach walked to the highest point of a cliff side which was roughly 450 steps, then had a swim in the warm sea which was just too nice! boarded the boat again and went off to set anchor for the night ahead, did some more swimming then sat down to eat another sea food meal which again was very nice! We watched the sun set gazed at the stars saw in the distance a storm sat watching the sky light up then went to bed!
Then the fun began...just about in a deep sleep when heard this bang and felt us hit something at first i thought i was dreaming woke up and realised the storm was on us and it was lashing down and lightening and we had hit another boat! Was reassured everything was ok tried to go back to sleep..moments later another bang, we had hit the boat again..! Me panicking sends Paul out to see what was going on the rain was pouring in and we could see that we was right up against the other boat..Paul went to the cabin and was reassured it was ok and that we should go back to bed..after what seemed like hrs we eventually fell asleep, next morning everything ok! We got up and went kayaking where we visited a open air cave it was lovely very peaceful just paddled around looking at the lovely scenary, also did some swimming, went to the beach then later checked into a hotel for the night! After more gorgeous food we went for a trek through a forrest and visitied a family who live there..they had a dog and 3 little puppies, i was holding one when i was told that they breed the dog then eat the pups when they are 1yr old, i was horrified!
Did some more sunbathing and swimming today and arrived back a few hrs ago feeling relaxed!
We are staying one more night here and have arranged another overnight train to take us to hue another part of vietnam where we have booked to stay in a hotel for 2nights! pictures will be posted as soon as!
