Maraehako Bay NZ (north island)

On the way to Maraehako Bay, we took a little detour and went to the east cape lighthouse, this is the most easterly point! We had a alittle walk upto the lighthouse, but for the views it was well worth it, even the drive around the east cape, was marvellous a hholiday destination on its own!!
In Maraehako Bay we stayed at a retreat right on the sea front, the location made it, the retreat wasnt that great, but for the views you woke upto it most definately was! The weather was great aswell, Paul went out in the Kayak around the bays and i just pottered around them, clammering over rocks and all sorts!!! In the evening, we sat outside by the open fire with a bottle of wine and some fish that the owner had caught earlier that day, we had red snapper and cray fish it was really nice!!
Again the next day, blue skys and the sun was red hot! We walked roudn to the next bay and sat on the beach for a while, chattered to some local fisherman along the way, not much around the town at all, a handful of houses, a backpackers and a campsite oh and a great coffe shop, Macadamia Nuts coffe shop, wow!! Set in great grounds, like an orchard its was lovely..sampled the local coffee and even bought a wee treat!!! Spent the rest of the afternoon nr the campsite, on another beach, Paul tried his hand on a rope swing and has grazed all his foot and thigh! I have been bitten to death off sandflies, but was well worth it, loved it here!!
