Cape Tribulation, Port Douglas & Kuranda
Cape trib was lovely, we managed to do almost all the trail walks around the rain forest, we even got see a Cassowary, which looks a bit like an Emu but its habitat is the rainforest and its classed as endangerd specie! Its about 6ft tall with a purple and red head?!
A Lot of the rainforest was damaged due to the cyclone, but still worth the visit! On the way down to Port Douglas we stopped a quite a few lookout points, it was a little cloudy but still the views where great!
We went down to Port Doulglas and found a campsite there, Port Douglas is a great town, a bit busier than we thought it would be but its got a great beach and loads of great picnic areas! We took an evening walk along the beach and upto the lookout, which was a little windy! We also had a walk around the town center, which was really busy with bars and restaurants!
Bit of a nightmare next morning, we was all set for a early start..when we accidentally locked the keys in the car!!!! We had to wait for 1hr for racq to come and let us in and thought they was gonna charge us an absolute fortune, but thankfully we was covered by the insurance so was both a little releived to say the least! We did eventually get to kuranda, and it to was lovely its a little village inside the rainforest, its really gorgeous! We manged to do a couple of really good walks and see more of the rainforest, we also walked down to barron falls which was a walk and half ha ha!
Early start again tomorrow, off to Mission Beach..so we are gonna camp in Cairns, well just on the outskirts and then drop the car off before we have to get the bus!
