Airlie Beach & sailing the Whitsundays (Queensland)

Long long journey!!! Arrived to find a bustling town, lots of bars and lots of shops, very pretty! We managed to find a backpackers that had a patch of grass to the side where we could pitch our tent and it was cheap unfortunately it wasn't until we had pitched up and paid that we realised we was probably on the busiest strip in town..the music was blasting out into the street from the bar/nightclub next door...not good! We went for a wonder round, had freshly caught fish with chips for tea and just went to the info center for a look! Our plan whilst we was at airlie beach was to possibly go on a 3day sailing trip around the Whitsunday islands, well that's if we could get a good enough deal and funnily enough we did, the downfall was that we had to be ready to leave the following morning at 8am!...Not a problem!
Bright and early we was up, went to the info center at 0730am to confirm, then back to the campsite to take tent down and sort 3days clothing into 2small bags then practically run down to the harbour!
The boat we was on was called "Waltzing Matilda" it was lovely, there was 14 people on board plus 2crew, we was on the tour for 3days and 2nights!! We sailed around the islands and occasionally stopped off for a little snorkel (where we saw turtles, lots of lovely coral and many types of fish, we also stopped of at whitehaven beach and soaked in the rays there for a while, the beach was probably one of the nicest beaches we have seen, even though that is pretty hard as we have seen some of the most amazing beaches there is! The food on the boat was lovely,in the evening we drank a little wine and played a few card games our room was nice also we had a double bed and everything, unfortunately on day 2 Jackie developed a lot of spots, we thought at first it was just the heat, but they got worse and was really itchy, when we arrived back we went to the chemist and they said it was bed bugs!!! As you can imagine she wasn't impressed! Everything has been boiled and dryed in the dryer, i mean everything!
We managed to find another little campsite (which is also part of a backpackers)???? to pitch up on for a couple of nights before we make our way down to Hervey Bay..via Rockhampton! Not a good idea that was, screaming and shouting all night long, just pissed up people running riot all night, it reminded my of being on a 18-30's but worse!! Nightmare hardly got any sleep, thought there was gonna be wars at one point with our campsite and the previous one we was staying on!! We also got out food robbed out of the fridge, wasn't happy, oh yeh milk spilt on our sleeping bags 2, so yet another trip to the laundrette, the only good thing is that we bought apple fragrance washing powder so all our clothes smell gorgeous for a change even if they aren't that clean, washing machines out here are rubbish, cant think what else has gone wrong but im sure there has been sumet, roll on 11am..we are outta ere!!!
